A tanker helmet differs from an infantry one in shape and in purpose. The crew of an armored vehicle needs protection for the head against knocks in a tight space and at the same time the option of using communication equipment, so British tanker helmets have a characteristic shell and a characteristic mounting. Clean the part up, wash it and let it dry. In the large scale every unevenness stands out, so paint in thin coats and take your time over smooth shading. Set the straps and the inner lining apart with another shade and a gentle wash, so that the helmet does not look like a solid lump. At the end unify the surface with a matte varnish and accent the edges with drybrushing.
