The Aber 1:16 metal barrel 5 cm KwK 38 L/42 is a turned metal replacement barrel for models of the Pz.Kpfw. III Ausf. G, H and early J tank in 1:16 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit but an accurately turned metal barrel from the Polish manufacturer Aber. It replaces the plastic barrel of the 50 mm KwK 38 L/42 gun on models of the German Pz.Kpfw. III medium tank in the Ausf. G, H and early J versions in the large 1:16 scale.
The armored Pz.Kpfw. III was the backbone of the German tank units in the early stages of the Second World War. The G, H and early J versions carried the short 5 cm KwK 38, a barrel 42 calibers long; only the later machines received the longer L/60 barrel. A metal barrel gives the model a perfectly straight, seam-free muzzle and a convincing shape.
Remove any burrs from the muzzle and, if need be, carefully drill it out. Bond the metal part with super glue (cyanoacrylate); for a firm joint the end can be pinned with wire. Degrease the metal before painting and spray a primer, otherwise the paint holds badly.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
