1:16 German M35/40 helmet (Stahlhelm) + decals is a small accessory set from the Firma49 brand for figures and scenery in 1:16 scale.

This is a standalone accessory, not a model of a vehicle or a figure. The set brings the German steel helmet in the large 1:16 scale and, according to the name, decals go with it. It comes into play wherever the helmet is seen close up: in a figure's hand, set down on a fender, on a crate or as a small item in a scene.
The 1935 pattern helmet replaced the older type from the First World War and became the most widespread German steel helmet. The 1940 pattern grew out of it and differs in its simplified production, where the ventilation holes were pressed straight into the shell instead of the grommets fitted earlier. From the outside the two patterns are similar, which is exactly why they are listed together in modeling.
In a larger scale it pays to clear the casting of its parting line first and even the surface out with fine abrasive paper. Lay the base coat on thinly so that the shape of the rim stays visible. The shade of German helmets shifted during the war, so choose the particular look according to the scene you are building. A decal needs a smooth base to read properly, otherwise a milky matte edge appears around it. Once it is dry, it pays to even the sheen of the whole part out with a final overcoat.
