Decals 1:16, PzKpfw IV Ausf J, SS-Pz.Regiment 1 LAH, France 1944 bring markings for a large scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Star Decals set in the large 1:16 scale is intended for the PzKpfw IV Ausf J tank and carries the markings of SS-Pz.Regiment 1 LAH in France in 1944. A kit is not included; it is a sheet of markings on its own.
The Ausf J was the last and simplest version of the Panzer IV to produce. The auxiliary unit for electrically traversing the turret was dropped, so traverse was left to hand power alone, and the space freed up served for more fuel, which extended the range. Later machines received wire mesh side skirts instead of solid ones. It was in just such a form that the Panzer IVs appeared in the fighting in France in 1944.
In 1:16 the markings are considerably larger than in the usual 1:35, so every imperfection shows. Level and polish the base more carefully than on small models, and lay a large design with plenty of time in hand: once an edge has sucked itself down, correction is no longer easy. Across extensive surfaces it helps to divide a design along the edges or the rivets. Once dry, unify the surface with a matte varnish, so that the glossy patch under the markings is not left visible.
