It is not a model or a set of parts but markings that give a finished, painted model the identity of a particular vehicle. According to the name, this is the machine with the turret number S21; the unit, the area and the dating are likewise given by the name. Check the extent of the sheet and the number of marking variants on the packaging.
Decals hold best on a smooth, glossy surface. So first go over the spot where the markings are going with gloss varnish and let it dry properly. Then cut the sheet up into individual designs, soak them in lukewarm water and slide the decal off the backing onto the model. Draw the excess water off with a cloth and prick any bubbles with the tip of a scalpel. On intricate areas, rivets and engraved lines a decal softener will help, as it presses the film onto the surface, so the markings look sprayed on. Finally, go over the model with a matte or semi-gloss varnish, so that the glossy base and the edges of the film disappear.
A large scale forgives less. In 1:16 the markings are considerably bigger than at the usual 1:35, so any silvering or badly pressed-down edge shows at once. It pays to work in smaller areas, not to hurry and to let every coat of varnish dry.
It is an accessory for a build, not a model. The model, varnishes and softener are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
