A kit of the German Sd.Kfz. 2 Kettenkrad tracked motorcycle in 1:16 scale, completed with a figure of an American paratrooper as the driver.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sd.Kfz. 2, nicknamed Kettenkrad, is one of the oddest vehicles of the Second World War: at the front a motorcycle fork with handlebars, at the rear a tracked running gear. The driver sat astride as on a motorcycle, took gentle turns by turning the front wheel, and in sharper curves braking a track helped. It served mainly as a light tractor for guns and trailers and in laying field lines; in its dimensions it was adapted so that it would fit into the cargo space of an aircraft. Captured pieces reached the hands of Allied soldiers too, which is connected with the American figure behind the handlebars.
The package joins a kit of the Kettenkrad in 1:16 scale with a figure of an American paratrooper in the driver's position. The exact count of parts, the contents of the decal sheet and the recommended color schemes are given in the manufacturer's instructions enclosed with the set.
The scale of 1:16 is generous and will reward careful work with detail, but at the same time it does not forgive mistakes in the seams and in the surface.
The set is for modelers who like unusual equipment and want to build it in a large scale, and for builders of scenes where a vehicle with a figure tells a story on its own. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
