Candy Ruby Red is an acrylic modeling paint of the Candy range. The whole range rests on a single principle: the paint is not applied to a gray primer like an ordinary covering shade but to a smooth glossy metallic base, which shows through it. That is how the candy effect comes about, that is a finish with an inner depth that changes its saturation according to the angle of view and according to how many coats you have applied.
Where ruby red comes in
A saturated ruby red is a classic of custom finishes. It sits well on the bodies of hot rods and lowriders, on the tanks and fenders of motorcycles, on helmets, on the parts of racing cars and on modern sci-fi machinery, where you want an expensive deep finish instead of a flat red. It works just as well on small details that are meant to look enameled or anodized.
For modelers of cars and motorcycles, for builders of sci-fi machinery and for anyone who wants a finish that cannot be made with an ordinary covering paint. It is applied mainly with an airbrush; an even translucent coat is difficult to make with a brush and the marks of the strokes are clearly visible in a candy finish.
Work in a ventilated room, use respiratory protection when spraying and close the container well after use. Keep out of the reach of children.
