Tiny springs in 1:12 scale in the short version, with which a model imitates the securing of exhaust pipework joints. On the real machine they have their reason: an exhaust expands as it heats up, so the joints must not be bolted up solid, and a spring holds them while letting them work. The short variant belongs where pipes meet close together and a longer spring would overhang.
The springs are tiny and tend to jump away while being handled, so work with tweezers and over a mat, not over a carpet. Fit them only after the exhaust has been painted, or paint will get into the coils and the definition of the spring will disappear. They are held by a drop of super glue at each end. The spring suits a dark metallic shade, with a hint of heat discoloration around the joint, where the pipework is hottest.
The set is an accessory, not a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
