A decal sheet with European license plates for car models in 1:24 scale. The third volume of the series.
Responsibility details are not available.
A license plate is the first thing the eye notices on a car, and at the same time it is what sets the model in a particular country and period. An empty plate holder gives a model away at first glance, whereas a correctly placed plate can move even a simply built body up a class. Yet plates are often missing from kits, or they are done only as an indistinct print.
It is a stand-alone sheet of European license plates for 1:24 scale, that is for the most widespread size of car kits. The series continues under further numbers, so a wider selection of plates can be put together; this volume is the third. Which particular countries and which periods are covered on the sheet you will find in the list on the packaging.
Sheets of this kind are handled by the wet method. Before you soak the sheet, however, check in the instructions whether it is a self-adhesive version: a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined beyond recovery, whereas an unsoaked wet-transfer decal can be soaked later. The wet procedure: varnish the surface of the plate holder to a gloss, cut the motif out close to the edge of the plate, immerse it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it starts to slide on the paper. Then slide it into place, draw off the excess water and let it dry undisturbed. The plate should be straight and flush with the holder, so set it by the edge rather than by eye.
For builders of car models who want to set a vehicle in a particular setting. A model, paints, varnishes and decal softener are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
