The Potenza RE-11S line came about as a circuit tire that can legally be driven to the track under its own power. It is marked by a stiff structure and a sparing tread pattern with a minimum of grooves, because as much of the surface as possible is meant to be in contact with the asphalt. In Japan it was used in the so-called time attack series, where a single fast lap decides and endurance certainly does not.
Work the tire on slowly and evenly around the circumference, so that the profile does not distort. If it goes on stiffly, holding it in lukewarm water for a moment helps. Lettering on the sidewall stands out if you add it with thin decals and seal it with a matte varnish. Lightly sand the contact patch, so that the car looks as though it really stands on its wheels and does not float above the base. Sanding only a small area is enough, otherwise the wheel loses its round outline.
