This set from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi is intended for filling out the setting around a model of a racing car in 1:20 scale. It is not a car kit but an accessory on the theme of the pit lane - mechanics and the command stand at the pit wall, from which the team follows the race and talks to the driver. Check the exact contents of the package, the number of figures and the dimensions of the stand from the printing on the packaging.
Why build an additional scene
A model of a single-seater on a base on its own comes across as static. Figures of mechanics and pit equipment give the tableau scale and action, so it is clear at first glance how big the car really is and what is going on around it. The 1:20 scale is the most common one for models of modern and historical single-seaters alike, so the set suits the great majority of the range.
The command stand at the pit wall is a typical feature of every circuit: a raised structure with seats, monitors and working surfaces for running the team. Together with figures of mechanics it creates a natural frame for the model of the car, whether you set it in a standby position by the pit or during a stop.
Nip the parts from the sprue with nippers and dress the sprue nubs with a file, so that no burrs stay on visible edges. It is advisable to spray the structure of the stand in a base color as a whole and only then deal with the details. Paint the figures separately from the base: first the faces and hands, then the overalls and finally the small details. Team colors and sponsor markings are not the subject of this set, so adapt your choice of shades to the car you are building. A final patina of dust and tire marks will give the scene conviction.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model of the car are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
