Top Studio 1:20 RB6 Super Detail-Up Set is an extensive detail set for a model of the Red Bull RB6 Formula 1 car in 1:20 scale. It is an upgrade to the base kit, not a standalone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set from the top range of the Japanese brand Top Studio for a model of the Red Bull RB6 Formula 1 car in 1:20 scale. The Super Detail-Up Set range means an extensive package that touches several areas of the model at once. The model of the car itself is not included, as the set is an upgrade over the basic plastic kit, which the modeler obtains separately.
What the fitting gains you: a single-seater has its suspension, brakes and cooling circuit exposed. Those are exactly the areas that mass-produced plastic carries in excessive thickness, because otherwise they could not be molded. The replacement parts from a detail set are markedly finer in proportion to the scale and the model then stands up even to a close look.
The Red Bull RB6 was a Formula 1 car of the 2010 season with a Renault V8 engine. It was notable for the elaborate aerodynamics of its rear end and it took both main titles in the season. For a modeler the main interest lies in the complex suspension and the richly shaped rear end.
Work area by area and try every replacement dry first. Cut the original plastic pins away only once you know that the new part will seat. Degrease the small elements, spray them with a primer coat and bond them with super glue applied with the tip of a wire. The dark blue bodywork is best sprayed over a dark base, so that there is no need to lay down a needlessly thick coat of paint that would cover the engraved lines.
This is not a model kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
