An add-on set of seat belts designed for 1:20 scale Formula car models. This is not a model or a kit — it is a detailing set that upgrades the cockpit of a model that is under construction or already finished. According to the manufacturer, the set contains photo-etched metal buckles and clasps, fabric-textured belts in three colors — red, blue and black — and self-adhesive logos. The F variant targets modern Formula cars; the manufacturer recommends it for F1 models from roughly the late 1990s onward. The choice of belt color lets you match a specific team and season.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a hobby knife on a hard surface and clean up the edges after cutting. Degrease the metal parts before gluing — otherwise neither paint nor a primer will hold; a primer made for photo-etch is ideal. The belts are threaded through the buckles and glued at points with cyanoacrylate; they look natural when you let them sag slightly over the edge of the cockpit, rather than pulling them taut like a string. Apply the logos last, once the belts have dried and are in place.
For builders of 1:20 scale Formula car models who want a realistic cockpit even with the engine cover removed — and for anyone who finds the belt decals from the box not good enough.
