A kit of the American airborne command post E-4B with the Nightwatch name in 1:200 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the four-engined airborne command post of the US Air Force. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; in 1:200 scale the fuselage comes out about thirty-five centimeters long and the span about thirty, so even in this small scale it is a large piece for the shelf.
The E-4B came about by converting a wide-body four-engined airliner into a flying command post from which the armed forces can be directed even if the ground posts stopped working. It was powered by four turbofan engines slung under the wing. On the spine behind the flight deck it carries a conspicuous elongated radome with the antenna for satellite communication, which is the identifying mark of the whole family, and the inside of the fuselage is taken up by operator stations instead of passenger seats. The Nightwatch name has long been tied to the type.
For collectors of large aircraft in a uniform 1:200 scale and for modelers interested in Cold War hardware. Thanks to the low part count the build is within reach even of a less experienced builder; the demanding part is rather the clean sanding of the seams and an even coat of paint.
The package holds the kit. The paints, the glue and other aids are not included, unless stated otherwise.
