A decal sheet in 1:32 scale with markings for Japanese Aichi D3A1 carrier dive bombers, the fourth part of a continuing series.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet in 1:32 scale for an Aichi D3A1 model. It is the fourth part of a continuing series, so the individual sheets cover different machines of the same type and complement one another. In a large scale even the small technical lettering stands out, the kind that cannot be managed with a brush. Which particular machines are covered and where their markings belong is shown by the drawing supplied by the manufacturer.
The Aichi D3A1 was a Japanese carrier dive bomber, known in the West under the Allied designation Val. It was operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service. You can recognize it by its fixed landing gear with wheel fairings, its elliptical wing and the dive brakes under the wing, which held the machine at a reasonable speed during a dive attack. It was deployed from the first days of the war in the Pacific and in the early phase of the fighting it was among the most successful Japanese machines.
In a large scale the markings are sizeable and carry less easily, so be prepared for that. Coat the area under the decal with clear gloss varnish, or a pale haze will be left around the printing. Cut the element out close to the edge, dip it briefly in lukewarm water and let it rest until it will slide off the paper. Carry a large marking right up to its destination together with the backing paper and only slide it off there. Press the water out with a soft brush from the center outwards, blot the rest away and coat the surface again once it is dry.
The model, the paints, the varnishes and the softener are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
