The set brings rims with the pattern that BMW carries under the factory designation Styling 37, in the form for an eighteen-inch diameter, and tires described as stance to go with them. The scale is 1:24, so a diameter of roughly nineteen millimeters corresponds to an eighteen-inch rim.
Stance is a style of building in which a car sits low above the ground and the tire has a sidewall stretched against the width of the rim. The look thereby moves from a series car toward a modified one from the circle of builders who lower their cars. On a model it is not only about the wheels: for the wheel to look right in the arch, the seating of the axles and sometimes the arch itself have to be adjusted as well.
For builders of modified road cars who want to build a model low and with a particular rim pattern. Because both wheels and tires are in the package, there is no need to hunt for the two separately and to work out what matches in diameter.
