A kit in 1:24 scale with a British military subject, listed under the designation BRC 40. The 1:24 scale is noticeably larger than the more usual military 1:35: the parts are less fiddly, the model is easier to build even for those just starting out, and the finished work has a different presence on the shelf. At the same time a large scale reveals every unfinished seam, so it pays to spend time on sanding and filling.
The extent of the kit, the number of parts and any extras are given by the manufacturer's instructions and by the box. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; to build it you will need glue, paints and basic tools, that is sprue cutters, a sharp knife and abrasive paper.
Separate the parts a little away from the part itself and then level the excess material, so that no dimple is left behind. Do a dry run with every larger group of parts before you reach for the glue. Paint the interior spaces while they are still accessible; once the body is closed you will not get to them again. On a military subject choose matte shades and a uniform base, and only then build up the wear: a dark wash into the seams, fine rub-through on the edges, dust from the bottom upward. Let the layers dry thoroughly, otherwise the wash will bite into the paint.
Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
