A plastic kit of the Japanese Nissan Skyline GT-R sports coupe of the R32 generation in 1:24 scale from Fujimi. The box refers to the 1989 model year, that is, to the launch of the car. The model belongs to the long Fujimi line devoted to Japanese passenger cars and is intended for building, painting and display.
The Skyline GT-R of the R32 generation appeared in 1989 and in a single step gave the GT-R badge its reputation back. Under the hood worked an inline six-cylinder engine of 2.6 liters with two turbochargers; the power went through all-wheel drive with electronically controlled torque split, and the car also had rear-wheel steering. In Group A the Skyline GT-R came to dominate a run of races outright, and the nickname Godzilla it was given in Australia stayed with it. The angular silhouette, round tail lights and wide fenders made it one of the most frequently built Japanese subjects of all.
With a subject this well known it pays to spend time on the finish. Rid the body of parting lines, sand it and spray a primer so that the sharp edges of the fenders stand out. Finish the gloss surface with a clear varnish and polish it with a fine compound once dry. Apply the decals onto a gloss base and seal them with varnish once dry, or their edges will show. Finish and paint the interior, the engine bay and the running gear before you close the body up. The wheels and brakes take a little highlighting well - a darker shade on the wheel and a fine metallic touch on the calipers give the model depth.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
