Kakou Tecchin Type-3 14 Inch is a set of four 14-inch wheels with tires in 1:24 from the Japanese firm Aoshima. It serves as a replacement for the factory wheels on an automobile kit; it is not a model of a car.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an automobile kit but an accessory set from the range of tuning parts of the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima. The package holds four steel rims of the Type-3 pattern in the 14-inch size, four rubber tires, polyethylene bushings for mounting the wheels and a sheet of decals. The Japanese expression kakou tecchin denotes a modified steel rim, a wheel style typical of Japanese street modifications and of period sedans and station wagons.
With this set you swap the factory wheels on a plastic car kit in 1:24 and move the resulting model toward a period tuning look. The rim and the tire are separate parts, so they can be painted separately and joined only afterwards. The polyethylene bushings let the wheels be fitted onto the axle without glue, so they stay free to turn.
Before the build, check whether the diameter and the width of the wheel match the wheel arches and the track of your kit; 14-inch wheels suit smaller and older cars rather than large ones. Steel rims look best in a semi-matte color with a light steel tone; rubber tires are not varnished, and it is enough to degrease them and perhaps just knock back the shine. Rubber does not take the usual modeling cements for plastic, so for any fixing use super glue in spots. Apply the decals to a smooth, slightly glossy surface of the rim.
The accessory set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
