The real subject

The Galant VR-4 is the top configuration of the Mitsubishi Galant sedan. The brand built it so that it would have something to enter rally competition with at a time when a turbocharged engine and all-wheel drive decided the result. Against an ordinary Galant it has exactly that pair: a turbocharged four-cylinder and permanent drive to both axles. In competition form it was the direct predecessor of the later Lancer Evolutions and it appeared on world championship entry lists at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s. The body stayed unobtrusive; the sedan keeps its civilian shape without loud additions.

What the set contains

A kit of the model in 1:24 scale. The parts are unassembled and unpainted. For the build you need cement for plastic kits, paints and basic modeling tools. The number of parts, the contents of the decal sheet and the recommended shades are given in the manufacturer's instructions.

Building and painting tips

Cut the excess material and the traces of production off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest, so that no raised ridge is left on the edge of the body. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. Apply the paint in several thin coats; on a sedan with large flat sides every irregularity shows at first glance against the light. Paint and fit the interior and the chassis before you close up the body. The window frames come out best with the help of narrow masking tape applied before spraying and peeled off once dry.
