The set brings wheel rims after the OZ Racing Magnesio pattern completed with tires, in 1:24 scale. OZ Racing is an Italian wheel maker whose patterns appear on road cars as well as competition cars, and the individual patterns differ from one another in the shape of the spokes and the lip. The wheels are a replacement for the parts from the kit, not a model in their own right.
The number gives the diameter of the rim on the real car in inches, that is nineteen inches. In 1:24 scale that works out to a rim about twenty millimeters across, and that is the figure it is worth comparing with the fender opening and with the way the car sits before you reach for glue. A large rim diameter belongs to a modern car or a conversion rather than to a period version.
Fit the wheels dry and check whether they sit on the axle stubs of your kit; open the hole in the hub up carefully with a round file as needed, not with a drill in one go. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Spray the rim separately from the tire, as the transition between them is the most visible part of a finished wheel. A dark gray shade suits the tire better than pure black, which looks flat on a model.
The set is for modelers who want to give the car a different character from the one the kit offers. The set holds the wheels; the model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
