Wheels of the Porsche 918 in the version from the Weissach package, in the twenty-inch size and in 1:24 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Weissach package was the lightweight specification of the Porsche 918, meant to cut weight where it shows most. Magnesium wheels belonged to it: magnesium is lighter than aluminum, and on a wheel the weight saved counts double, because it is unsprung mass and it rotates as well. The word Magnesium in the designation therefore refers to the real wheel, not to the material of the parts in the set.
Wheels in 1:24 scale in the version after the Weissach package, in the size given in the name, that is twenty inches. The inch figure refers to the real car: twenty inches is 508 mm, which in 1:24 scale works out to a rim diameter of roughly twenty-one millimeters. Compare that figure with the wheel arch of your own model before gluing.
Assemble the wheel dry and try it in place; only then glue it. Parts that are not polystyrene are joined with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); solvent cement for plastic does not work on them. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder down so that the mating surface stays flat. Wash and degrease the parts and apply a primer before painting. Wheels from the Weissach package look good in a more matte shade that clearly sets them apart from the glossy paint of the body.
For builders of modern sports cars in 1:24 scale who want to build the model in the lightweight version and set it apart from the base specification. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
