The Shelby GT500 is the most powerful branch of the Ford Mustang line, on which the look always changed along with the power. This set is aimed at the custom treatment of the car, that is a rebuild with a reworked body, different wheels and a differently resolved interior, of the kind found on the builders' scene rather than in series production.
This is a conversion set that replaces a substantial part of the donor kit:
The set is built on a model of the Ford Mustang in 1:24 scale from Revell or Monogram, from which the chassis and further parts are taken over. Before you buy, then, reckon with the fact that the set alone does not replace a model. The parts are not polystyrene, so liquid cement for plastic does not act on them and they are joined with cyanoacrylate glue; cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder down. Bend the photo-etched parts over a sharp edge or in a bending tool and cut them from the fret only just before fitting. Wash and degrease everything before painting; the detailed procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The set is intended for more experienced car modelers who want to build a car outside the production version. The donor kit, paints, glue and lacquers are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
