A water-slide decal sheet from Xtradecal in the large 1:24 scale, devoted to the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX fighter in its c and e subversions. It is not a kit but a set of markings that offers several attractive finishes and makes it possible to build a model after one particular historical subject. The sheet covers machines in day fighter color schemes as well as a variant in a high-altitude finish.

The real subject

The Spitfire Mk.IX was a high-performance version of the legendary British fighter, fitted with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine with a two-stage supercharger. It went into service from 1942 and became one of the most widespread variants of the Spitfire, serving with a number of Allied squadrons on the European and Mediterranean fronts.

Use

• Applying national and unit markings to a finished and painted Spitfire Mk.IX model.
• The decals are transferred from water onto a gloss clear base and sealed with matte clear once dry.
• Following the enclosed instructions you can choose one of several finishes offered.
