Eduard 1:24 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VIII seatbelts STEEL is a set of pre-printed self-adhesive steel seat belts for the large model of this British fighter. This is a detail accessory, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard contains photo-etched seat belts for the pilot's seat in the STEEL version, that is, in a more flexible steel sheet with a pre-printed color finish and a self-adhesive backing. Thanks to that the belts follow the shape of the seat nicely and look realistic without lengthy painting. It is not an aircraft kit but a small detail accessory for the large Spitfire Mk.VIII model in 1:24 scale.
The Spitfire Mk.VIII was an advanced version of the British fighter with the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, used above all on overseas fronts. In the large 1:24 scale the cockpit interior is clearly visible, so faithful seat belts are among the most noticeable upgrades a model can get.
Separate the parts from the fret carefully, peel off the protective layer and shape the belts into position with tweezers. The steel version holds a bend better than softer brass. The self-adhesive layer is usually enough, and joints can be secured with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue. Treat the printed color surface gently.
The accessory is supplied as a set of belts without the model. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
