MiG-19 / Shenyang F-6/J-6 BASIC kabuki masks 1:72 (New Ware)

A basic set of laser-cut kabuki masks from the Czech maker New Ware in 1:72 scale. It is intended for models of the MiG-19 fighter and of its Chinese license-built versions, the Shenyang F-6 and J-6. Kabuki tape follows the shape of the parts precisely and leaves no marks when lifted off.

The real subject

The MiG-19 was the first Soviet production fighter capable of supersonic speed in level flight. In China it was built under license as the Shenyang J-6 and in export form as the F-6, and it served with a number of air forces around the world.

Use

• The BASIC level covers the outside masking of the canopy glazing for clean framing.
• The masks are laid on clean, degreased surfaces and the edges are pressed down with a blunt tool.
• The paint is sprayed in thin coats so that it does not creep under the mask.
• It saves time compared with cutting tape by hand and gives sharp edges.
