This item is not a kit but a set of small warning beacons in 1:72 scale from Firma49. They are the rotating or flashing lamps mounted on the roofs and frames of escort, engineer and recovery vehicles. In a small scale this is one of the details that can move a whole scene forward - even a couple of well placed beacons give away at once that the column has technical support. The number of pieces in the package, the dimensions and the material of the parts are stated on the box.
They find a use on modern military trucks, tractors and tank transporters, on engineer and recovery machines and on airfield vehicles, which in 1:72 scale are often built alongside aircraft. They also serve well on civilian vehicles in dioramas, where they form a natural divide between the military and the non-military part of a scene. Kits meanwhile usually supply no beacons at all, so they have to be obtained separately.
In 1:72 scale cleanliness of execution matters more than the number of layers. Use translucent paint over a light undercoat and apply it thinly, otherwise the part darkens and stops reading as glass. Leave the bracket in the shade of the vehicle and keep the upper lens as clean as possible. Drill the hole for the pin before gluing - with parts this small it is the only reliable way to keep the beacon in place and at the same time not flood it with glue.
