A replacement final drive chain in 1:12 scale for a model of the Yamaha YZF-R1. According to the name it is cut for the Tamiya 14073 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Yamaha YZF-R1 appeared at the end of the nineties and shifted the idea of what a liter-class supersport should look like. Compared with its rivals of the time it was shorter, narrower and lighter, so it steered closer to racing machines than to sporting tourers. The form with a short frame and a high tail became the pattern for the whole class, and the R1 line is still in the range today.
This is a replacement final drive chain in 1:12 scale. According to the name it is intended for the kit given in brackets, that is the Tamiya 14073. The material, the number of links and the way of joining are given in the manufacturer's instructions, so check them there before the build. The set serves as a replacement for a part from the kit; the assembly procedure stays the same.
The short wheelbase of the real subject means that a lot of parts come together in a small area at the rear, and the chain is visible from both sides. Put the assembly together dry first, therefore, and fit the chain before you glue the swingarm and the wheel for good. Check that both sprockets lie in one plane. Dose the glue in a minute amount and never fill the gaps between the links with it, or you will lose exactly the fineness a replacement chain is bought for.
The set is intended for a modeler who wants the rear wheel drive better worked out than in the basic kit. The work is short, but it asks for tweezers, sharp light and a steady hand. The kit itself, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
