This is a colored decal set for the interior of a model of the A-26B in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit nor a finished model, but an accessory to a plastic kit. A print with a three-dimensional effect brings both color and depth of detail onto a flat plastic part, detail that is hard to paint with a brush. This set is the basic, full version; a so-called small version with a narrower selection of elements is made as well.
The A-26 Invader is a twin-engined all-metal attack and bomber aircraft of the end of the Second World War, which served for a long time afterward. The B version is recognized by its solid nose without glazing. The crew compartment of this type is reasonably accessible even after assembly, so detail in the cockpit really does tell on a finished model.
The basis is a smooth and glossy base. Paint the part first and brush a gloss varnish over it; the element has no adhesive layer of its own and will not hold on matte paint. Release the decal after about fifteen seconds in lukewarm water, move it into place and blot the excess water away with a soft cloth. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as their chemicals attack the printed resin and ruin the element. Once dry, unify the whole interior with a varnish in the degree of gloss you want.
The set replaces the flat parts of the kit — where the detail in the plastic is only suggested, you get a colored and three-dimensional looking surface with practically no painting. Degrease the plastic before applying and sand the coarser relief down if needed, so that the decal seats over its whole area.
The set is an accessory to a kit, not a standalone model. Paints, glue and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
