Eduard 1:48 Lockheed F-104J Starfighter seatbelts STEEL is a set of color-printed photo-etched steel seat harness belts for detailing the Starfighter cockpit in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of color-printed photo-etched steel seat harness belts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, intended to improve the cockpit of the F-104J Starfighter fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory: it replaces the simplified or entirely missing belts from a base kit with three-dimensionally rendered parts including the buckles and the webbing. The steel material of the STEEL range is springier than conventional brass, so the belts shape more easily and follow the form of the seat naturally.
The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter was a groundbreaking supersonic fighter with a thin trapezoidal wing, capable of flying at over Mach 2. The F-104J version was created for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force as an interceptor, and a large part of the machines were built under license by Mitsubishi of Japan. In Japanese service the Starfighters flew from the early 1960s to the mid-1980s.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and bend them with smooth-jawed tweezers. Glue with a small amount of cyanoacrylate applied on a pin or a toothpick. Before seating the belts, work them gently so that they read as slack, like real webbing, and even the look out at the end with a fine flat clear coat. The color printing calls for no further painting.
This is an add-on set: a kit of the aircraft, glue and paints are not included in the package.
