It is not a model of a vehicle but an accessory meant for completing kits of military equipment and for filling out dioramas and vignettes. This version carries the NIRONA marking on the body and matches the 1943 pattern; the cans are made in the form with a closed cap. They suit can racks on fenders, the beds of vehicles and loose placing in the terrain.
The German twenty-liter can, commonly called a jerrycan, was one of the most widespread containers for carrying fuel and water. Its recognition features are the three handles side by side, thanks to which one person or two could carry it, and the cross-shaped pressings on its sides, which stiffened the body and left the contents room to expand. The cap was arranged with a folding lever, so it opened without tools. The individual production series differed in the embossing on the body, in the year of the pattern and in details of the cap; it is precisely these details that distinguish the items of the whole line.
Separate the parts carefully from the casting gates and sand the remains with fine abrasive paper. Do not round the sharp edges of the handles and the pressings while doing so, as they carry the whole impression of the casting. Depending on whether they are injection-molded plastic or resin, reach for liquid modeling cement or for super glue. Wash resin parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting and sand with respiratory protection. Paint over a thin coat of primer, otherwise the paint holds badly on the smooth surface. Convincing results come from a dark wash into the pressings and against the handles, dry brushing of the edges and fine rubbing with pigment; chipped paint and rust marks around the cap look natural.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
