1:32 A-4 Skyhawk, air intake covers from Quickboost are resin plugs that are inserted into the jet engine intakes on a model. It is not a kit but an accessory for a parked aircraft.

The abbreviation F.O.D. stands for foreign object damage. On the ground, covers are therefore pushed into the air intakes of jet aircraft so that the engine does not ingest tools, screws, stones or anything else that could get inside. This resin set reproduces such covers in 1:32 scale for the A-4 Skyhawk carrier attack aircraft, which has its air intakes on both sides of the fuselage behind the cockpit.
The covers are useful in two ways. Above all they move the model into a specific situation: an aircraft parked on a deck or on a ramp, ready for maintenance. The second benefit is practical. The inside of an air intake duct tends to be a weak spot on models, because the seam and the end of the duct in a blank wall are visible inside it. A fitted cover hides this problem elegantly and saves you hours of sanding and filling in a place that is hard to reach.
Wash the castings in soapy water and let them dry thoroughly. Cut off the casting blocks and dress the seating surface with a file so that the cover drops in without force. Dry-fit them until they sit exactly. They are usually painted in a striking shade so that they cannot be missed on the aircraft, and are completed with a small lettering or a streamer. If you only want to fit the covers and take them off later, do not glue them permanently; a light application of glue on a small area is enough. It is a good idea to weather them lightly at the end so that they do not look freshly made.
This is an accessory for a build and is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
