A resin set with the external AN/ALQ-131 jamming pod in the so-called shallow variant, in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit of an aircraft but an accessory with which you add electronic warfare equipment to a model. The pod was made in both a shallow and a deep form, and the two variants differ on a model in the height of the body, which is why the manufacturer offers each one separately.
The AN/ALQ-131 is an American external electronic warfare pod intended for jamming and for protecting the aircraft. It is carried on a fuselage or underwing pylon and in service it appeared on several types of American-built tactical aircraft. For the modeler it is interesting because it can be obtained even for an aircraft whose kit does not include it, bringing the model closer to a particular operational configuration.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and free them of the mold release agent. Cut the casting block off with a saw and level the surface with a file, protecting your breathing while sanding resin. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Prime it, since the pod usually carries a different shade from the aircraft, so it is practical to paint it separately and fit it to the finished model at the end. Pick out the panel lines sparingly with a capillary wash, because the body of the pod is smooth and an overdone shadow looks distracting on it.
It is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. Paints and glue are not included in the package.
