1:32 BAE Hawk Nat. Insignias is a Dead Design masking set for sprayed national insignia of the Hawk training aircraft. Instead of a decal, the insignia is sprayed straight onto the paint.
Responsibility details are not available.
These are not masks for the cabin. This set deals with the national insignia and roundels: you stick the individual parts of the mask onto a sprayed model, overspray them with the appropriate colors and after they are taken off the insignia remains straight in the paint.
A decal has a carrier film, which on a flat surface shines and on imperfect adhesion creates a silvery veil. A sprayed insignia has no film, so it does not silver, does not peel at the edges and behaves the same as the paint around it - weathering, rubbing through and a final flat clear coat can be carried over it without worry. The insignia also follows the shape of the part, so on curved surfaces and across engraved lines it does not wrinkle.
The base has to be smooth and dry; do not stick a mask onto fresh paint, it would tear it off. Apply the coats of color from the bottom up - first the light base one, and once it has dried the darker one. The key thing is setting the next part of the mask in the exact place, because an inaccuracy of a tenth of a millimeter is immediately visible with concentric shapes; it helps to work in good light and to check the position from a distance before you press the mask down. Spray thinly, otherwise a palpable step arises at the edge of the insignia. After the last part has been taken off, even the whole model out with a clear coat in the degree of sheen you want.
