This resin detail set from Aires in 1:32 scale replaces the cockpit of a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10 fighter. It is not an airplane model but a resin accessory for a kit, which markedly raises the fidelity of the pilot's compartment. The set is intended for more experienced modelers and is supplied as resin castings to be assembled and painted.
The Bf 109 was the main single-seat fighter of the Luftwaffe in the Second World War. The G-10 version was one of the late, performance-improved forms of the Gustav series, with a revised engine and armament arrangement. A finely rendered cockpit with its instrument panel, seat and side consoles adds realism to a model.
Wash the mold release residue off the parts, separate the casting blocks carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. German interiors come out well in grayish shades with a wash into the recesses and a fine dry brush on the edges. Check the fit against the fuselage of your particular kit before installing it.
