Techmod 1:72 Mi-17 (Mi-8MTV-1) is a sheet of waterslide decals for a model of the Mi-17 transport helicopter. It is an accessory for a model; the kit itself is not part of it.

A sheet of waterslide decals from the Polish manufacturer Techmod in 1:72 with the markings of the multi-purpose Mi-17 helicopter, which in the original nomenclature is designated the Mi-8MTV-1. The set serves as a replacement for, or an addition to, the decals from the box and suits older kits too, where the original decals no longer hold. The package holds the decals only; the model and paints are not part of it.
The Mi-17 is the export designation of the modernized line of Mi-8 helicopters. Against the original form it was given a more powerful power unit, thanks to which the machine copes at higher altitudes and in a warm climate as well. The outward recognition mark of the modernized line is the relocated tail rotor and altered engine covers. The helicopter serves for carrying people and freight, for rescue flights and in many countries for military tasks as well, so it exists in civil as well as military finishes. It is precisely the breadth of users that makes the type a rewarding modeling subject.
Before applying the decals, clear-coat the model with a gloss coat; on the broken engine covers the film silvers otherwise. Cut the motifs off one at a time, soak them briefly and move them into place with a brush. Let the softener work without brushing over it, so that the film embraces the panels, rivets and pressings. At the side doors and the large windows, check that a decal does not run across the edge of a part that is meant to move. Leave the landing gear legs and the areas by the exhausts for last. Once dry, even the surface out with a matte or semi-matte coat according to the kind of finish.
The package holds the decals only. The model, glue and paints are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
