This resin accessory from the Quickboost brand brings precisely cast barrels for the onboard guns of a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in the G-6 version in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit but a replacement part that replaces the simplified plastic barrels from the box with truer and more slender castings with a crisp shape.
The Bf 109G-6 was among the most widespread variants of this legendary fighter. Compared with the earlier versions it received heavier fuselage machine guns, whose breech housings created the characteristic bulges on the engine cowling (nicknamed Beulen). The barrels and their muzzles are small but conspicuous details; a fine casting with faithful proportions looks better than the thicker plastic parts from the box.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap to deal with mold release residue. Separate the small barrels carefully from the casting block with a sharp knife or a saw and clean them up with respiratory protection. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and work with tweezers when handling the thin parts. Metallic shades and light toning will bring out the material.
The accessory is supplied as a resin replacement part, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
