The Douglas A-20 was an American twin-engine attack and light bomber aircraft with tricycle landing gear, known in British and Allied service under the name Boston as well. The A-20G version differs from the older forms in that the glazed nose for a bombardier was replaced by a solid nose with fixed gun armament. It was precisely this guise that proved itself in the low-level attacks typical of operations in the south-west Pacific. Australian crews used the type alongside American units, and their machines carried their own national insignia and tactical markings.
At the large 1:32 scale decals stand out the most, but every mistake is also seen most clearly. So unify the base with gloss varnish and let it cure properly. Cut the decals out close around the design, so that the edge of the carrier film does not show. Once they have been soaked in lukewarm water, transfer them onto the model, settle them, draw the excess water off and use a softener across engraved lines. It is better to settle large designs one at a time and to let them dry between steps. At the end comes a matte or semi-gloss varnish according to how the surface of the model is to look, and only after that the patina.
The package contains decals. The kit, paints and varnishes are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
