Photo-etched parts for the main landing gear bays of a model of the Douglas A-20J/K Havoc and the Boston Mk.IV in 1:32 scale. They replace the smooth walls of the kit with an intricate surface.
Responsibility details are not available.
The landing gear bays are visible from below on a finished model, and on a model with the gear extended the viewer cannot miss them. Yet kits often deal with them by means of a smooth wall with no detail, because the mold cannot reach any further. This set is meant for the main landing gear bays of a model of the Douglas A-20J/K Havoc and the Boston Mk.IV in 1:32 scale and replaces the simplified surfaces with an intricate photo-etched one.
The bays are fitted at the start of the build, before the engine nacelles are glued together and before the wing is attached to the fuselage. So try the parts dry first, then set them in place and only then spray the inside; on a finished assembly neither a brush nor a nozzle can reach in any more. Apply the super glue in drops from a piece of wire, so that the excess does not run onto surfaces that are to stay clean.
Carry the bends out in a bender in one movement, and for parts that are to follow a curved wall try the shape out in advance on a round handle. Degrease the metal before painting and coat it with a primer. A bay takes honest highlighting: a lighter base, a dark wash into the corners and fine traces of oil and mud down at the edges turn a flat surface into depth.
For modelers who build the Havoc or the Boston in 1:32 scale with the gear extended and who want the model to stand up to a view from below as well. The kit, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
