This is a sheet of 3D cockpit decals by Red Fox Studio in 1:32 scale, not a kit. The set is cut for the Hasegawa kit. The manufacturer also makes a version of the same aircraft prepared for a different kit, so when ordering choose according to whose model you are building. The decals carry relief and are printed on a gloss backing, so the instrument dials read as glazed.

The real subject

The F-104G is the most widespread version of the Starfighter, a multirole single-seat aircraft with a strengthened structure and added avionics, also built under license in Europe. The cabin is single-seat, with one instrument panel and side consoles; two-seat trainer versions have the cockpit laid out differently.

How the set is applied

Before gluing, the raised relief of the instruments is usually sanded off the plastic, and the surface is cleaned and degreased. The pieces are carefully taken off the sheet and transferred to the corresponding place following the procedure the manufacturer gives on the box. Gloss varnish is not needed, as the backing carries the gloss itself. Apply them before you close the cabin with the canopy.
