The life of the airmen of the First World War did not consist of aerial combat alone - between flights they spent long hours on field airfields waiting for the weather, for orders or for their machines to be repaired. It is exactly such an everyday moment that the figure captures. Beside a fighter on a stand, by a field tent or in a small vignette it tells a story that a model of the aircraft alone does not convey.
Wash the resin parts in warm soapy water, cut off the casting blocks and glue the joints with super glue. They can be painted with acrylic paints with gentle transitions, and the face is beautifully brought to life by oil paints applied in layers. Check the shades of the French flight gear of the period against period photographs and illustrations.
