This product is a photo-etched detail set meant to improve the exterior of a plastic model of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 Dora fighter in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit of the aircraft or a complete model but a set of fine metal parts that replace or complement the coarser plastic ones and move the finished model toward a higher degree of fidelity. The set is intended for the Hasegawa kit.
Photo-etched exterior parts typically take in the fine elements of the outer surface of the airframe, such as covers, grilles, protrusions, panel fasteners and other details that cannot be molded in plastic at a realistic thickness. Photo-etching gives the correct thickness of material for the scale, which injection-molded plastic cannot.
The parts are parted from the fret with a sharp knife or with special photo-etch shears and are glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate), or with a glue made for photo-etch. For clean bends a photo-etch bender helps. Before spraying paint it is advisable to degrease the metal parts and go over them with a primer for better adhesion.
This is an accessory, not the model itself. The Hasegawa base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
