Sea Fury FB masking set 1:72 (Eduard)

A die-cut self-adhesive masking set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the British carrier-based fighter-bomber Hawker Sea Fury (the FB version) in 1:72 scale. This is not a model but a set of pre-cut masks for precise painting of the framing of the bubble canopy and the other details.

The real subject

The Hawker Sea Fury was a British carrier-based fighter with a piston engine and one of the fastest production propeller aircraft ever built. It served with the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy and with other countries, and it still saw combat in the Korean War. The fighter-bomber form (FB) was the main production variant.

Use

• Separate the individual masks from the sheet and stick them precisely onto the glazing frames.
• Press the edges of the masks down firmly with a wooden stick or a toothpick so that no paint creeps underneath.
• Spray or brush the areas and carefully lift the masks off once the paint has dried.
• Make use of the masks for the wheel rims and the other small curved areas as well, where straight tape is hard to shape.
