This is an injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SL sports car in 1:24 scale from the Japanese maker Tamiya. The set contains parts for building a detailed model, chrome-plated parts and decals. The package does not contain glue or paints.
The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (type W198) is a sports car of the 1950s, famous for its doors opening upward in the gull wing style. The production coupe grew out of a successful racing program and is powered by an inline six-cylinder of about three liters. To this day it is among the most iconic postwar cars.
Use thin modeling cement for plastic to join the plastic parts. We recommend treating the body with a primer before painting and spraying with an airbrush for a smooth glossy surface. The chrome-plated parts bring out the chrome trim, and the decals should be applied over dried varnish. Patience in cleaning up the mold seams pays off on a glossy body.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
