A detailed injection-molded plastic kit of the German Junkers Ju 87 dive bomber in the G version, the Kanonenvogel, in 1:32 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa. The box offers a richly rendered cockpit, figures of the pilot and the gunner and the option of building the Ju 87G-1 or the G-2 variant. The model is meant to be glued and painted.
The Junkers Ju 87 Stuka was the archetypal German dive bomber with its characteristic siren wail. The G version, the Kanonenvogel (literally cannon bird), was a specialized anti-tank conversion armed with a pair of 37 mm cannons hung in pods under the wings. It was used above all on the Eastern Front against Soviet tanks and became linked with the name of the pilot Hans-Ulrich Rudel. The loss of the bomb load and the heavy underwing pods worsened the flying qualities, but the cannons were able to destroy armored vehicles.
In the large 1:32 scale, finish and paint the cockpit and its interior before you close the fuselage. Give attention to the glazed cockpit and to the underwing cannon pods, which are characteristic of the G version. Decide in advance whether you are building the G-1 or the G-2 variant. Paint with an airbrush over a primed base according to the marking scheme; bring out wear and mud effects on the underside and the landing gear with washes and pigments. Glue the plastic with liquid cement and the clear parts with canopy glue.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
