This item is an aid for painting, not a model of the aircraft. The scale is 1:32, so we are talking about a large model where the cleanliness of the lines really matters.
The Macchi C.202 was an Italian fighter that came about by fitting an earlier airframe with a German liquid-cooled V engine. The result was an elegantly shaped machine with good speed and excellent handling, but with weak gun armament. It was deployed over the Mediterranean and over North Africa, and its striking finishes with sand-colored blotches are among the most interesting things that can be applied to a model of an aircraft.
It suits a modeler who is building an Italian fighter in a large scale and wants the insignia sprayed rather than stuck on. It also helps where a decal on a curved fuselage would cause trouble, because spraying follows the shape without creases. The base kit has to be obtained separately.
