Responsibility details are not available.
The first numbered item of the line of ground technical personnel of the US Army Air Forces of 1940 to 1945 in 1:32 scale. The line is built as an open series, in which the individual numbers follow on from one another. Behind the brand Black Dog stands a Czech manufacturer of accessories for aircraft models.
In service there were considerably more people on the ground per machine than in the air, and most of the work went on under the open sky, often at night and between flights. Maintaining the engine, topping up the operating fluids, checking the moving parts and preparing the machine for the next takeoff took hours. That is exactly why a technician by a model is one of the most believable ways to give a scene an everyday working character.
Link the figure with some activity, not just with a space. An open engine cover, a ladder leaning against the fuselage, a cloth spread out under the work area or tools set down on the ground will turn a figure into a person at work. In color it is a good idea to keep working clothing noticeably dirtier than the aviation figures, with darker stains on the knees, on the forearms and around the pockets.
