Roden 1:32 Mercedes D.III is a plastic kit of a stand-alone model of a German First World War aircraft engine.
Responsibility details are not available.
This kit is not an aircraft model but a stand-alone collector model of the Mercedes D.III aircraft engine in 1:32 scale from Roden. It is an injection-molded plastic kit completed with photo-etched parts and a simple base for displaying the finished engine. The result is a striking display piece of a powerplant that can be built on its own or used as an accessory to a diorama.
The Mercedes D.III was an inline six-cylinder liquid-cooled aircraft engine built by Daimler. It ranked among the most widespread German engines of the First World War and powered a number of fighters and reconnaissance aircraft. In its versions it reached an output of around one hundred and sixty to one hundred and seventy horsepower and stood out for its reliability.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and clean them up with a sanding sponge. Glue with liquid cement for plastic and fix the small photo-etched components with cyanoacrylate glue. The engine stands out with a combination of metal shades, a dark wash into the recesses and gentle dry-brushed accentuation of the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
