Quickboost 1:32 MiG-21 MF gun pod (early version) is a resin gun pod for a model in 1:32 scale. It is a stand-alone armament accessory, not an aircraft kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Quickboost is a range of quick resin accessories that each solve one particular thing and call for no major work on the model. This casting represents a gun pod in 1:32 scale, that is a weapons pod carried under the fuselage or the wing. The early version designation points out that the form of the pods differed over their service life and that the casting corresponds to the older shape. Thanks to the large scale, even the small features stand out that would be lost in smaller scales. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for a model already built or under construction.
The MiG-21MF was a single-engine supersonic fighter with its characteristic circular air intake and a cone in the middle. It was one of the most widespread jet machines of its day and served in many countries including the then Czechoslovakia, where it became one of the most frequently modeled types. Gun pods supplemented the built-in gun armament and were carried on fuselage or wing pylons, so they form a logical part of the typical configuration of the machine.
Wash the mold release residue off the casting, cut the casting block off with a saw and level the area on sandpaper. Make the dry fits before you reach for the glue — on external stores, what matters is that the pod should hang parallel to the axis of the machine. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Painting is quick: a primer, the base shade, a dark wash in the engraved lines and light wear on the edges where the weapons are handled. Bring out the muzzle with a dark shade and light sooting running aft.
This is an accessory for modelers, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unpainted; paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
