1:32 Universal rib tapes for Antanta. WWI, Post-WWI Era (All kits)

Quinta Studio 1:32 universal rib tapes – Entente aircraft, the First World War era

A universal set of decals from Quinta Studio that imitates the tapes running over the ribs of the fabric covering of the wings and tail surfaces of period aircraft of the Entente countries from the First World War and the early postwar period. It is not a kit — the decals are applied to the covering of the model and replace painting or gluing the individual tapes by hand. Intended for models in 1:32 scale.

What it is for

The wings and tail surfaces of First World War aircraft were covered with fabric that was stitched to the ribs and covered over with narrow tapes of doped cloth. These tapes formed the characteristic longitudinal stripes standing out from the surface — an unmistakable mark of period machines.

Use

• The tape decal is cut out and applied like an ordinary decal to the covering at the position of the ribs.
• Before application it is a good idea to give the surface a gloss coat for perfect adhesion.
• We recommend evening the surface out with a matte coat at the end.

Who the set is for

• Builders of First World War aircraft who want faithful rib tapes without laborious hand masking.
• Modelers in 1:32 scale.

This is an accessory (decals), not the model itself. Paints, varnish and the kit are not included in the package.
